Revenge of the Sith: Kay Wraps Up the Prequels with Nerd Lunch
Once more the Nerd Lunch Star Wars panel reconvenes. Today’s drilldown agenda? 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. For several of us on this podcast, Revenge of the Sith is our favorite of the prequel trilogy but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some critiques on the story and how it was told.
If you’ve been listening to the series, you might be happy to know the Yoda Tapes come up yet again. After a childhood of being creeped out by him, I surprise myself once more by enthusiastically talking about, and sometimes even defending, Yoda. Other topics that pop up include Palpatine’s machinations, Anakin’s relationships with everyone, and Padmé’s demise.
I’d already planned on re-watching all the Star Wars movies in the lead up to Episode VII, so being able to complete that and discuss them with some of my favorite podcasters has been an extra special treat. We definitely didn’t always all agree, but it’s nice to be part of a group where ultimately everyone respects each other’s opinions.
It’s been great to find new points to dive in to too. Re-watching the prequels especially has given me the opportunity to find new appreciations for certain aspects of the films.
So thanks once again to Pax, CT, Jeeg, and Michael May for inviting me to be the Nerd Lunch Leia in the Nerd Lunch Star Wars Drilldown. We’re done for the moment but we’ll be back soon enough because the saga continues when The Force Awakens next month.
