Skywalking Through Neverland: Revenge of the 5th Episode

Tricia joined Sarah and Richard Woloski for Skywalking Through Neverland’s Revenge of the 5th Episode. From the show notes:

This is our most action-packed, super-fun, galactically great episode yet!  We would like to start off by saying ‘Happy Revenge Of The 5th!” We hope you had a Forceful May The 4th.

Thank you, Disney, for announcing the cast for Episode 7 this last week! (They knew this would make a perfect Tiki Cantina segment for our May the 4th Episode of Skywalking Through Neverland.) Now along with returning saga veterans like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker we have a brand new cast to help further the story we never thought we’d get. So we called a few of our friends like Robert Bapst of The Bald Solo Podcast (who is also co-hosting this week), Scott Murray from the Assembly of Geeks podcast and our long time listener and admin of Skywalking Through Neverland Facebook Page, Donald Wicks.

A long time ago in an era known as the 70’s and 80’s when there was very little Star Wars content to help fill in the gaps, we had to go on our first impressions. We had no spin-offs or expanded universe to help us visualize what things like “the Clone Wars” meant. Who was The Emperor? And what memories did Leia actually have of her mother? We talk with friends including Chris Alexander (author of Star Wars Origami), Michael Kogge (author of The Despotica and Star Wars Insider articles) and Tricia Barr (fangirlblog.com and Fangirls Going Rogue). They reveal their first impressions of the Clone Wars, a duel between Vader and Obi-Wan at the edge of a volcano and more. This is a discussion Richard has been having with Chris Alexander since they were both dressing up as Jedi Luke back in 1984.

The very first all-Star Wars convention was held over the Memorial Day weekend, 1987, in Los Angeles to celebrate the saga’s 10th Anniversary. Richard was lucky enough to have attended!. One of the highlights was the very first appearance by George Lucas who had flown in from England where he was shooting Willow. We’ve aired some of his Q&A on past shows. We go back and review this Q&A and repeat the questions when needed or just crack-wise on questions that were asked 27 years ago…

We have so much more for today’s episode including the history of how May The 4th started, a review of The Big Bang Theory’s Star Wars episode, and, the reveal of our May the 4th Giveaway winner!

And remember, never land on Alderaan!
