Fandom Fashion Friday #2
We’re back for another round of Fandom Fashion Friday – your place to see some of the latest finds for wearing your fandom. In this edition there’s even more items than last time so be sure to check out the links as not everything is pictured.
Star Wars
Hot Topic and SuperHeroStuff are now carrying some of the items we saw in the Goldie/We Love Fine Star Wars collection. For example:
Chewbacca Hoodie at Hot Topic ($79.50)
Han Solo Costume Shirt at SuperHeroStuff ($43.99)
R2D2 Sweater at SuperHeroStuff ($56.99)
Several new Star Wars earrings can also now be found at Hot Topic:
Rebel Alliance Insignia Earrings ($8.50) Oddly enough the product page for this one includes a Princess Leia quote from The Force Unleashed.
Also available: Boba Fett, stormtrooper, Imperial logo, and Darth Vader
This AT-AT walker necklace has some neat detail in it and is normally $100 (US) but you can find it currently on sale at Kohl’s for the low, low price of $29.99.
And a new plus-size Her Universe tee has appeared on ThinkGeek for $19.99. Are you ready to choose your destiny?
I recently discovered Junk Food Clothing carries some Star Wars items too. Some of the clothing is even on sale as of this posting – including this purple comic-y ladies Star Wars t-shirt ($10), this trippy Star Wars raglan ($18), and this particularly comfy-looking Empire Strikes Back hoodie ($30, technically men’s sizing).
And for those who like to keep their fandom apparel even more subtle than a piece of jewelry, Hot Topic also has no-show Star Wars socks. It’s a 5-pack set with designs for R2-D2, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, a stormtrooper, and Chewbacca. ($14.50)
Marvel
The Black Widow tank top at ThinkGeek ($19.99) is a new form of the t-shirt already available at HerUniverse.com. And in more Black Widow goodness, you can also get a Natasha charm ($24.99 at ThinkGeek) for her (and other members of The Avengers) if you’re the charm bracelet type. I bet you could probably move it to a different chain or cord and wear it as a necklace too. It’s a fairly subtle piece.
Some of the Marvel by Her Universe clothing items have reappeared on Hot Topic’s website.
And there’s an Avengers shirt for women that also has Black Widow in the middle of the group. Try not to let your jaw hit the ground too hard. $24.50 at Hot Topic
Harry Potter
ThinkGeek has recently unveiled a surge of Harry Potter-themed jewelry.
Three different earrings sets feature Dobby, the Sorting Hat, and the Ministry of Magic logo. ($34.99 each)
There are also a whole slew of charm beads ($14.99 each) including a feather quill charm, the Triwizard Cup charm bead, and, of course, Hedwig the Owl. Now Dobby might get people’s attention but the quill and Hedwig could be ways to get your stealth geek on.
On the more sporty side there’s a H. Potter Gryffindor Jersey Shirt over at Hot Topic ($22.50). If you’d like to stick with the Quidditch theme, there’s also a Weasley is Our King T-shirt ($22.50). And then there’s this nice reminder from Dumbledore on the Happiness Can be Found shirt ($22.50).
DC
And finally if the new images from Batman v Superman – Dawn of Justice has got you wanting to add to your wardrobe, this lightweight Batman scarf is nice on a summer evening ($14.50 at Hot Topic).
ThinkGeek’s Wonder Woman premium raglan ($29.99) will protect you from the A/C. Possibly feel tougher than ever while wearing the Wonder Woman Symbol Collar Necklace found over at SuperHeroStuff.com ($15.99).
Or have a symbol face-off with this Dawn of Justice shirt on Amazon (prices vary).
All images from their respective vendors.
Kay grew up wanting to be an astronaut. After seeing Star Wars, she wanted to be Princess Leia, Han Solo, and an astronaut. A voice actor, photographer, and artist who also consults in communications and marketing, Kay spends the little bit of free time she has reading, reviewing, and, of course, making pew pew noises. She would pick up more jobs, hobbies, and fitness routines if she was a Time Lord. You can follow her on Twitter.
