Fandom Fashion Finds: Picks from March

The onslaught of the most stylish geek fashion this past month came from Disney but there’s some pretty cool other finds in here too.

Marvel

There have been so many shoe options for Black Panther. Now Hot Topic has LA Gear Marvel Black Panther Hi-top Sneakers ($39.90).

Looking to wear the crest of Wakanda? Box Lunch has you covered with this tee ($28.90).

Besame Cosmetics has a fabulous looking Field Agent Lip Kit ($68) in honor of Agent Peggy Carter.

Carry your things in either this Iron Spider backpack ($79.99) or this Art Deco Iron Man Duffle ($39.99) found at Entertainment Earth.

Disney

ALex and Ani Wrinkle in Time Ring

Check out Alex and Ani’s A Wrinkle in Time movie jewelry collection for necklaces, rings, and bracelets ($28 – $98). I’ve got my eye on the Bring Back the Light adjustable ring ($38).

Torrid’s Ariel collection includes some lovely pieces like this Ariel Multicolor Midi Dress ($68.90) and clever pieces like this Ariel Green Mesh Sarong ($38.90). Ariel fans will also find this Disney The Little Mermaid Shell Woven Button-Up at Box Lunch ($44.90)

You’ll find clothing and accessories intended for Dapper Day ($16 – $152) for both women and men over at Unique Vintage. I’m particularly fond of these high-waisted sailor pants ($62). Unique Vintage has also added Disney-inspired pieces from Cakeworthy.

Her Universe has a Disney Retro Tiki Collection at Hot Topic. There are clothing and accessories as well as shoes – which are a new addition for Her Universe offerings. Shirts for men are included under the Our Universe label. My pick is the Moana Retro Wrap Skirt ($36.90).

Great subtle geek sunglass options can be found at Box Lunch: Disney Mickey Mouse Retro Sunglasses ($29.90) and Disney The Little Mermaid Gold Aviator Sunglasses ($29.90). If your sunglass budget is higher and you’re visiting Disney Parks they have a partnership with Ray-Ban for an exclusive Mickey Mouse style ($193).

The initial offerings from Opening Ceremony Mickey-inspired collection are on Shop Disney ($65 – $695)

Star Wars

Po-Zu has released five new Star Wars shoes this month! Learn more about the sneakers here and the boots here (£99 – £150).

Musterbrand products have not only begun to be sold in Disney Parks and online at Shop Disney, but their 4 new swimsuit designs are now all available to buy on their website: Leia, Kylo Ren, Rebel Pilot, Ahsoka ($49.99 each).

Nixon has a porg watch ($175) that you’ll only find at Box Lunch.

And you can travel with the help of your trusty droid via this packable BB-8 duffle bag ($27.99).

And Even More Fandom

Pinup Girl Clothing has a whole Betty and Veronica collection with a bunch of subtle yet retro chic options ($12 – $58).

And over at Unique Vintage, they’ve teamed up with Mattel to bring some of Barbie’s early fashion styles to life ($10 – $210).

Nintendo and Bloomingdales have come together to both share existing women’s and men’s clothing that feels Nintendo-y as well as sell several Nintendo exclusive items. I kind of want to look like Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road with this Aqua maxi wrap dress ($158).

Kay

She grew up wanting to be an astronaut. After seeing Star Wars, she wanted to be Princess Leia, Han Solo, and an astronaut. Life’s taken her on a bit of a different path, but she’s okay with that. Kay is FANgirl's resident geek fashion expert and co-host of the Hyperspace Theories podcast. She reviews books and movies for the site with a heart for storytelling and a mind that likes to analyze. Kay's been a guest on various podcasts sharing her love and knowledge of storytelling, film-making, fashion, and of course, Star Wars. Most days are filled with her work as a creative services professional - designing websites & branding, photographing, voice acting, editing, and more. Kay spends the little bit of free time she has reading, costuming, and, of course, making pew pew noises. She would pick up more jobs and hobbies if she was a Time Lord.
