Coldplay’s Catching Fire Lyric Video
Yesterday Coldplay released the lyric video for their song written for the upcoming second installment in The Hunger Games movies. Catching Fire hits theaters on November 22, 2013.
The slow, sweeping ballad was written specifically for the film, which finds Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) adjusting to life as victors following the events of the Hunger Games. That is, until they are thrown back into the arena for the 75th annual games — the dreaded Quarter Quell.

Contributor Mary points out the song is more a “poem with music” that hints at the growing unrest in the fictional setting of Panem. The video alone is worth the watch. It gives nod to existing mythology, Atlas being one of the “primordial Titans” who held the world upon his shoulders. The imagery also provides subtle cues toward myths that are woven into the heroic journey of Katniss Everdeen.
Also, this week The Hungers Games Explorer site has also released updated bio images for many of the movie’s characters. (via The Hob)
