SoulPancake Features Star Wars and Game of Thrones Cosplay

One of my favorite aspects of social media is those moments when uplifting images or videos pop up in my feed. When Shea Standefer recently shared a SoulPancake video about cosplay, I clicked on it immediately. SoulPancake is a media company that aspires to “encourage people to chew on life’s big questions and figure out what it means to be human.” The cosplay video highlights the passion and effort of three lady cosplayers, and perhaps tries to remind everyone that being a geek isn’t about gender.

When Shea is interviewed in the video, her Jaina Solo Stealth-X pilot costume appears behind her on a mannequin. The costume was inspired by art created for Suvudu’s starfighter pilots post last year, so I posted about the video at Suvudu this week to complete the circle. Del Rey also publishes the Game of Thrones novels, and I made sure to include Shea’s Daenerys costume, too.

Speaking of Jaina cosplay, yesterday Shea joined other X-wing pilots from Hazard Squadron from the Rebel Legion’s Sunrider Base at Legoland in California to pose with the life-sized X-wing made entirely of Lego bricks. How cool is that?
