One of the goals of Her Universe’s Year of the Fangirl is to celebrate our community. In some ways, it is responsible for Teresa Delgado and I meeting and eventually teaming up on Fangirls Going Rogue. You can listen to us talk with Ashley Eckstein about it in our December 2013 episode. Teresa recently wrote a moving blog post at Jedi News about her growing circle of fandom friends.

I also had the pleasure of nominating vlogger Amanda Jean for Fangirl of the Day. It was a no-brainer after watching her YouTube video with her top four Han Solo moments. Follow Amanda Jean on Twitter.

I met Fangirl of the Day Johnamarie at New York Comic Con while we were both waiting to say hello to Ashley Eckstein. She wrote a lovely piece “Fangirling over Fangirls” spotlighting Her Universe, FANgirl Blog, Legion of Leia, and GeekGirlCon. Johnamarie attended Book Expo America this weekend and provided a first look at Ezra’s Journal, a tie-in to Star Wars Rebels. (via Rebels Report)
