Catching Up on Star Wars Books
Yesterday, the Star Wars Books Facebook page hosted a live chat with Tim Zahn. As usual, Zahn had some interesting comments to share; Club Jade has a nice recap. I know a few fangirls who loved seeing a possible Fel novel pitch mentioned:
A Fel or Chiss novel would be fun. As a matter of fact, the trilogy I mentioned above (which I’ll pitch if I’m invited to do another book) would have one book heavily involving Thrawn and the Chiss. (The middle book, btw, would feature Mara being sent to stop an assassination…against Vader. Imagine the fun they would *both* have with *that* assignment.) The proposed series title is The Maestro Trilogy, if anyone wants to star nagging Del Rey. (No, seriously, *don’t* nag. Just ask politely…)
Last Thursday, Hollywood.com revealed the cover art to Tim Lebbon’s upcoming novel Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void.
That young heroine striking a dashing pose is Lanoree Brock, one of the Je’daii’s most powerful apprentices on Tython. Into the Void, written by New York Times bestselling sci-fi author Tim Lebbon, is her story. Lanoree is a powerful Je’daii Ranger tasked with a mission that strikes very much close to home.
The cover looks fantastic, and not just because it features a female character. As Megan Crouse points out, this book cover just screams to be “snatched… up.” I mean, who doesn’t want her sword? The cover design is by Scott Biel with artwork by Torstein Nordstrand, best known to Star Wars EU fans for his previous stunning cover: Darth Plagueis.
Tricia Barr took her understanding of brand management and marketing, mixed it with a love of genre storytelling, and added a dash of social media flare to create FANgirl Blog, where she discusses Star Wars, fandom, and strong female characters.
